The children sit with their legs under the parachute. Some children (one to three) are selected to be sharks. The children around the parachute shake it, to create the sea, and the sharks crawl underneath.
The sharks touch the ankles of children sat around the parachute. Those children that are touched let out an exaggerated ‘scream’ as they’re taken under the parachute. The child and the shark then change roles.
Be careful to instruct the sharks not to pull heavily on the legs of the others as this could result in children falling backwards and bumping their head on the ground.
