The principle of the game is to return heart and breathing rate back to a resting state, following an active cool down.
To begin, have the children lie in a comfortable position being absolutely silent. At this point, optional calming music can be put on in the background. The children who are being still and silent are chosen then to return to the classroom, or begin lining up ready to return to the classroom. Leave the children in place for a few minutes before you start choosing the children to return so that everyone has sufficient rest time.
This particular activity is identified best as a cool-down activity for use with Early Years and Key Stage One, though could be used in other Key Stages.
